The AL-2500 Alcoscan Breathalyzer - Personal Alcohol Tester

The AL-2500 is the newest breathalyzer (breathalyser) offered by Andatech. The AL-2500 is lighweight, easy to use, and very portable. Its semiconductor-oxide sensor provides an accurate and exact BAC reading at a very wide range - from 0.00 to 0.40 %BAC. No mouthpiece is required - just blow into the sensor and your BAC is displayed in seconds. This model is accurate, easy to use, and affordable.

AL-2500 Instructions

1. Turning on the power
To turn the unit on, press the power button. The unit will begin a start up process and automatically re-stabilize the alcohol sensor. The LCD display will undergo a countdown sequence, indicating that purge cycles and circuit tests are taking place. This process generally take 30 seconds but can last 2 minutes. The warm up process is complete once two beeps sound, the WAIT sign turns off, and 0.00 is displayed on LCD screen.

2. Blow in the unit
Making sure your mouth is close to the sensor, blow a deep breath for at least 2 seconds.

3. Display

Note: The LCD screen will display the exact BAC value, not just a range.

4. Retesting

The AL 2500 lets you know when the battery is low. sign lights at the low battery and indicates fresh batteries should be installed before retesting.

1. Allow at least 15 minutes after consuming alcohol before testing.
2. Enclosed rooms with low ventilation or air conditioning may increase wait time necessary between tests.
3. Spittle or alcohol contamination of the alcohol sensor will delay reset time between tests. In the event of spittle or alcohol contamination, the unit can be shaken to ensure a quick recovery of the sensor.

The Andatech AL3500 is without a doubt the most cost-effective, and highest quality wall-mounted breathalyser available. With its sleek design, the AL 3500 is about half the size and a third of the weight of older model wall-mounted units, not to mention less than a third of the price of some of its competition.

The AL 3500 uses semiconductor sensor technology, and it does not need recalibrating. Instead it is recommended that the sensor be replaced every 500 tests. Each unit sold comes with 6 sensors, and new ones can be purchased for only $30.

It has the option of being coin-operated, and is fitted to accept Australian $1 coins, however this function can be deactivated at the purchaser’s request.
