ROBOSAPIEN V2, He sees, hears and even ‘speaks'! If he was any more realistic, he'd be human! The Robosapien V2 has landed...
The amazing Robosapien was unquestionably the must-have toy of 2004 for kids and adults alike, taking the world by storm with his amazingly realistic movement and behaviour. So how do you follow a phenomenon like that? Step forward Robosapien V2 - the next generation. Once again designed by former NASA physicist Dr Mark Tilden, Robosapien V2 is even more amazingly advanced than his predecessor. In fact he's so lifelike, we almost expected him to need food and water instead of batteries...
The Robosapien V2 is twice the size of the original, and boasts 100 pre-programmed functions. But what really sets the V2 apart is that he's capable of autonomous behaviour. Set him to ‘free-roam' mode and watch him take control instead of you! Fluid biomechanical motion makes his movements exceptionally human-esque (yes, we did just make that word up), and he even has ‘senses'. Robosapien V2 hears, sees, and even responds to you verbally - it's like having your own pet person!
Multi-sensor programming enables the Robosapien V2 to interact with you and respond to stimuli:
Colour vision system: Recognises colours and skin tones - recognises and interacts with objects and people
- Stereo sound detection system: ‘Hears' and reacts to sounds
- Speech: Responds verbally to environmental stimuli (speech can also be activated via controller)
- IR vision: Detects and avoids obstacles and table edges; tracks moving objects
Okay, so you probably can't discuss the finer points of bio-chemistry with him, but the Robosapien V2 can still hold a conversation to rival the average Big Brother contestant. That's as well as sitting up, lying down, standing, bending, walking and waving, and even showing off his martial arts skills. With built-in laser tracking technology, he can follow a path traced on the ground, and his articulated fingers allow him to lift and grip small objects.
While some robots are controlled, the Robosapien V2 takes control - literally. As well as interacting with the Robopet and Roboraptor, the V2 can tell them what to do, and they'll duly oblige.
The Robosapien V2 isn't the first robot companion with these kinds of capabilities, but he certainly is the first costing hundreds rather than thousands of pounds. If you've only ever dreamed of experiencing technology this advanced, dream no longer - the reality is here.
Measures 24" (approx. 60cm) high. Uses 8 x D batteries for Robosapien V2 body, 2 x AAA batteries for Robosapien V2 Brain and 4 x AAA batteries for the Remote Control. Batteries are NOT included
